Having fun with it

So yesterday I played Uncharted 3 from 5pm until 11:30pm with only a couple breaks. I'm enjoying it so far, though there hasn't been anything that has gripped me quite like the snow levels in Uncharted 2 yet. The burning building chase was frantic and hair-raising, but I haven't yet encountered any great puzzles. And there were a few times where I was frustrated because I didn't trigger an event exactly perfect and was stumped. "Oh, you gotta stand exactly on that tile to get the prompt to use the binoculars..." At one point there was a level with a bunch of sentries patrolling. I snuck up and stealth killed all of them, getting a silver ninja trophy in the process. It was badass. And then nothing happened. I walked around for a good 10 minutes trying to find what I needed to trigger to continue. I ended up shooting to "alert" the reinforcements to my presence, and only after I killed them all did the next scene start. I don't know... maybe I missed a sentry hiding someplace. But small gripes aside, it's been a great game.

I had lunch with a friend last week and she was concerned about my state of mind given how "dark" the current story arc is. I told her, as I'll tell you now, that as I progressed with it, it took on a life of its own. At this point, I'm just along for the ride. And given that this arc is officially non-canonical, I'm happy to take it where it's leading me.
